BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alice Renouf, President, has been the Executive Director of the Colorado China Council (CCC) since its inception. She holds advanced degrees in Chinese studies and has lived and traveled extensively in Asia. The primary focus of CCC is sending people to teach English, as well as other academic subjects, at universities and secondary schools throughout China. The CCC has placed over 300 teachers, making it one of the US's largest non-religious providers of teachers to China.

Peggy Mc Kay has been an editor at the Denver Post for 20 years. She is a Colorado China Council board member, has taught journalism at Beijing University, and has worked for Xin Hwa, China's major news agency.

Sylvia Lin, Professor, currently teaching at the University of Notre Dame, was a professor of Chinese at the University of Colorado in Denver. Ms. Lin teaches contemporary Chinese history and culture in addition to Chinese. She is originally from Taiwan and received her Ph.D. from the University of California.

Jon Rush, Associate Director of CIRES (Cooperative Institute for Research in the Environmental Sciences) University of Colorado, is on the Executive Committee of the Boulder-Lhasa Tibet Sister City Organization, and Vice President of Colorado- Hunan,

Henry Strauss, President of Scientific Management, is a China trade consultant, a member of the board of the World Trade Center of Colorado as well as a member of numerous other local boards.

Howard Goldblatt, previously Professor of Chinese Literature at the University of Colorado in Boulder, is currently teaching at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Goldbaltt is the premier translator of contemporary Chinese literature and has won recent awards for his translations. He has written extensively and his articles have been published in the New York Times, the New York Magazine among others.

Zhu Shen is president of Equinox International, China trade consulting firm, a member of the Rocky Mountain Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and a founding member of the Society for the Development of Chinese American Cultural and Economic Relations. Currently Zhu is a consultant for numerous biotech clients and also operates www.bioforesight.com.
